What is new in Sitecore 9.1 !
This November’2018 end (28th Nov) Sitecore officially released a new version, with brand new features and functionality. Definitely you will see the Sitecore is going to be Rocking Star in digital content & experience world. Here in this blog I tried to get a glimpse of new changes, hope you will find useful.

What are the key features introduced in Sitecore 9.1 ?
Sitecore introduced host of new featured in this release, provided here some key features !
- Sitecore Omni™: Now Sitecore provides ‘true Headless capabilities’ from Sitecore 9.1. Sitecore Omni leverage the Sitecore JSS capabilities and a new Universal Tracker to build headless application without compromising personalization, analytics and A/B testing features.
- Sitecore Cortex™: Brings next level of machine learning innovations to help marketer to automate practical, high-value personalization tasks.
- The Universal Tracker™: Universal Tracker is API first, micro-service based tracking service (SDK), to track actions from different channels like mobile, other application which consumes the content from Sitecore.
- Sitecore GraphQL: The Sitecore GraphQL API is a generic GraphQL service platform on top of Sitecore. It hosts your data and presents it through GraphQL queries. The API supports real-time data using GraphQL subscriptions.
- Sitecore Identity: Sitecore Identity (SI) is a mechanism to log in to Sitecore. It was introduced in Sitecore 9.1. It builds on the Federated Authentication functionality introduced in Sitecore 9.0 and the Sitecore Identity server, which is based on IdentityServer4.

What happen to the Sitecore JSS Tech Preview ?
Sitecore JSS was in Tech preview 4. Now it got officially released with Sitecore 9.1
What are the functionality we can expect to get deprecated in future version ?
Sitecore is planing to deprecate the lucene search provider from version 9.2 onwards. If you are using in any of the current application, its time to stop using it here after.
What are new changes to the Sitecore documentation ?
- If you are experienced Sitecore developer definitely you would have experienced distress over the Sitecore documentation. But this is going to be changed here after
- As part of Sitecore 9.1 release, Sitecore released a new documentation site totally redesigned from ground up.
What is improved in Sitecore 9.1 ?

- All the analytics functionality has been removed from the XM packages to improve performance when you run in CMS-only mode.
- Azure Search now uses the POST method to submit search queries and thereby avoids the 4K bytes limitation.
- Federated Authentication now supports Azure AD B2C bearer tokens.
- The Content Delivery server role does not require the Core database when the Sitecore security membership provider is not used.
- Word and PDF documents can now be indexed without the need for 3d party software.
